Ramesh Sambasivan, founder, AlligatorZone.org, is a serial social-entrepreneur, and the principal and program-lead at SiliconGlades, a design and innovation firm that helps companies deliver social-impact while pursuing profits so that their brands may become legacies. AlligatorZone™ is an uplifting social-impact program where kids meet cool startups. Startup founders and the kids and youth in public audiences learn from one another while exchanging perspectives on the startup’s product. Launched in June 2014 in Tampa Bay, AlligatorZone™ has since, successfully toured 10 cities across the nation delighting young audiences, including several in Silicon Valley, showcasing close to 100 different startups in public libraries. AlligatorZone™ includes a proprietary system to coach kids and youth to independently run the program in their local public libraries, thus helping them develop critical soft-skills for leadership. AlligatorZone™ is now poised to expand its social-impact across the heartland of the nation, as a social-enterprise. Sambasivan is a published author and a veritable expert in the field of virtual meetings and online business communities. In Tampa Bay, he has been a community leader and an active volunteer, bringing to the Bay area several initiatives to support and encourage current and future entrepreneurs, including Bootstrappers Breakfast® Tampa Bay Area, where entrepreneurs help one another over breakfast to address problems that money can’t solve, and CoderDojo Tampa Bay Area, a free volunteer-run movement where a community of software professionals in Tampa Bay gather regularly in public libraries to nurture a love of coding among kids and teens. In his spare time he concocts other social-impact programs, advises startup founders, volunteers actively in the community, and dreams about completing his project of illustrating and publishing the 99 bedtime stories he once made up for his own children when they were younger. Sambasivan happens to be the elected President of TiE Tampa Bay, a volunteer-position that is all about socio-economic impact through fostering entrepreneurship, and thus, close to his heart.
